1985 Ninety-Eight

Whats new for '85:
Ninety-Eights were all new for '85. Now built atop the newly downsized and front-wheel-drive C-Body platform. Though the car was smaller on the outside, there was still plenty of room for six passengers inside. Coupes became available in Brougham trim. A rear window mounted third brakelight was optional. Three engines were available, but most cars were built with the optional 3.8 V6.

Biggest News:
'85 marked a drastic change for the Ninety-Eight. The second wave of downsizing in less than a decade mean no more V8 engines and front-wheel drive instead of rear wheel drive. It payed off for Olds as sales soared over 100 percent.
