| Whats new for 01: Exterior styling was freshened with a new chrome grille and redesigned bumper. Wheels and tires were upgraded to 16" on the GLS and Premier. New 15" wheels were offered on the GL. Inside, second row captians chairs became standard. GLS and Premier featured a new fold flat third row seat. The dash featured new integrated cupholders. An in-dash six-disc CD player and rear parking aid were new options. Premiere got a larger LCD screen and wireless headphones. Onstar and a driver's side head airbag became standard. Sky and Cypress exterior colors were discontinued while Black was added. Sable interior was no longer offered.

| Biggest News: There was finally some movement to distance the Silhouette from its Chevy and Pontiac siblings. Oldsmobile exclusive features included upgraded dash featuring color keyed vent surrounds and steering wheel. New wood trim around the radio/climate controls and surrounding the power window and door lock controls on the doors. Captian's chairs became available for the third row. There was also an acoustics package for theatre quiet interior. | ||
