1986 Ninety-Eight | ||
| Whats new for '86: After bieng completely redesigned the previous year, Ninety-Eight returns with a sprinkling of revisions for '86. A new grille is at the front of the car, at the rear a third-brakelight is standard as mandated by the government. The trunk is more space efficient due to the spare tire bieng located under the new flat load floor. Inside, leather seating is now available in blue. There is also a new Grand interior package featuring leather seats with pigskin inserts and a special leather-topped center console. Mechanically, engine offerings have been trimmed. There are now three suspension levels available. Level III (FE3) suspension comes with special aluminum wheels on blackwall tires.  |

| Biggest News: The previously standard 3.0 Buick V6 has been discontinued. The troublesome 4.3 Diesel V6 was also discontinued leaving the 3.8 Buick V6 as the only engine choice.

| Identifying an '86: '85 and '86 are the only years of this bodystyle not to have composite headlamps. '85s have an all chrome grille, while '86s have a body-colored section in the center. | ||
