1981 Ninety-Eight

Whats new for '81:
After recieving a trimmer silhouette for '80, Ninety-Eight's return for '81 with only minimal styling changes. The most noticable bieng a new grille design, which features six squares on each side of the center divider. Cast-aluminum wheels are a new option, which will only be available in '81. The automatic transmission now has four forward speeds for improved fuel economy. Added sound deadeners reduce interior noise levels.

Biggest News:
One year after going from standard to optional, the 350 gas engine is gone altogether. 307 is now optional and a 4.1 Buick V6 is now standard. Diesel 350 is still available.

Identifying an '81:
'81 Ninety-Eights differ from others of this body style only in the grille. The squares of the eggcrate design are the biggest. There are only six on each side of the center divider.
