Whats new for '76:
Parking lamps moved up from the bumper. This would be the last year hardtops would be available. It would be the last year the 455 Rocket V8 was produced. Air Cushion restrains system would also not return tor '77.

Biggest News:
For fans of big cars, this was as big as the came. With the still recent oil embargo on the minds of Americans, Olds was working as fast as possible to come up with smaller, lighter designs. With that, 1976 became the last year for the "big" Ninety-Eights.

Identifying a '76:
Having perhaps the most squared off styling of the '71-'76 bodystyle, this was the only year the front park/turn lenses wrapped around the side of the car. Eggcrate grille was shared with Custom Cruisers.
